- Laboratory: MaxGen Labs.
- Test kit delivery: The test kit is dispatched by Mindovermetal. Royal Mail 1st class delivery is provided free of charge for UK customers. For customers outside of the UK, the delivery fee is £10 including tracking.
- Sample required: One saliva sample collected from the inner cheek of the mouth using a cotton swab. No spit sample required. The test is suitable for all ages.
- Sample analysis: 180 gene variants analysed from the DNA in buccal epithelial cells.
- Returning the sample: The sample will need to be sent directly to MaxGen Lab in the USA. Any courier service can be used to send the sample to the lab. If you are sending from the UK, Royal Mail is the cheapest option. To send the package tracked, the cost is £9-£11. Royal Mail is used at the first stage, and then the package is handed over to USPS in the USA. If you are sending from outside the UK, the cheapest option is to use a local courier service. The local courier service is used at the first stage, and then the package is handed over to USPS in the USA. This option should be available in most countries. The test kit includes a small box or an envelope to send the sample to the lab.
- Test result turnaround time: 10-14 days from the sample logged date at MaxGen Lab. The sample logged date is usually 1-3 days after the sample has been received at the lab.
- Practitioner support and treatment advice programme: Practitioner support and an MTHFR gene mutation treatment advice programme are included with the test price if required. Communication is provided via email, phone or WhatsApp messenger. The laboratory also provides treatment advice regarding gene mutations etc.
- Test results and personal data: Your personal data and test results are not forwarded to companies and organisations for marketing and research purposes. All personal data and test results are kept strictly confidential between the laboratory and Mindovermetal Ltd.
